Building & Grounds

Mission

  • The Building and Grounds Committee is responsible for the maintenance and planned upgrades of the church buildings and grounds under the direction of the Chair of the committee.

  • Volunteers work on landscaping and interior church building projects to maintain the beauty of the 1950’s era campus and buildings.

A yellow stucco house with a red shingle roof and a small covered porch. There are garden beds with flowers and plants along the walkway leading to the front door. Tall trees and shrubs surround the yard under a clear blue sky.

We are proud to partner with New Mexico/El Paso Interfaith Power and Light as a covenant congregation. Their Cool Congregation committee gave our building a free energy audit. Working with their recommendations, we put LED bulbs in all our light fixtures, added solar panels to our roof, and are now installing new energy-efficient heating and cooling. In 2024, we received a Seed Grant for our commitment to be stewards of God’s creation through adopting energy efficiency and a PV solar array.

Solar Energy Savings

During 2024, our building completed a solar energy panel roof installation with the assistance of energy savings rebates at the state and federal level.  See our Monthly Solar Savings Report here.
