Care Team

Mission

The Care Team is an integral part of the spiritual work of this church.  Working alongside staff, we assist in assuring that those with needs during times of stress, grief and joy are contacted, comforted, supported and held in the thoughts and prayers of the congregation.

Vision

The vision of the Care Team is that every person actively engaged in the church will be a part of providing comfort for church members in need.

Activities

  • A variety of activities constitute the care provided by this team of volunteers:

  • Nourishment through cooked food for those with emergencies/losses/etc.;

  • Delivery of quilts or prayer shawls for those not able to attend services;

  • Visiting and singing to those in facilities;

  • Sending cards to cheer or say the member is missed at church; 

  • Arrangement of pastoral care/counseling (through the pastors and many of the rest of the ordained folks in our congregation);

  • Provide comfort for members who temporarily or permanently are unable to attend services through music, conversation and prayer; and

  • Provide scheduled group visits to persons in care institutions.
