Racial Justice

The work of the Racial Justice Committee is guided by the racial justice covenant adopted by our church in 2022. In Fall, 2024, church members were invited to join a reconstituted Racial Justice Team, as well as task groups dealing with Crisis Response and Decentering White Supremacy Culture in Worship.

To view the resolution, see the First Congregational United Church of Christ A Resolution to Become a Racial Justice Church document here.

FCUCC’s commitment to the Black Lives Matter movement is provided in a pastoral message in a recent FCUCC Signpost newsletter here.

This summer the Racial Justice Team will be offering three different after worship sessions on three key areas that emerged for our focus through the process of the racial justice audits and writing the updated covenant. Rev. Dr. Ryan Tate has created an amazing curriculum to lead us through many various facets of racial justice and healing and we hope you will join us for these participatory and educational offerings.
