Peanut Butter and Jelly Team
Mission
We seek to work as a congregation with other community church partners to provide food for hungry persons in the community.
Activity
The PB&J sack lunch program started 20 years ago when a member worried that unhoused folks were getting a meal on Sunday but didn’t have anything to eat after that.
We receive contributions of bottled water, bread, peanut butter, jelly, fruit chews and granola bars from church members which support the program. Every Sunday morning, a small crew gathers in the kitchen to make sandwiches and assemble a sack lunches that are distributed to the unhoused at Immaculate Conception downtown.
The Immaculate Conception volunteers receive donated sack lunches from First Congregational and other volunteers and then distribute them to people in need.
