Pride Pop-Up Choir
What’s a pop-up choir? It’s a one-day-only choir commitment. You show up at 9:00 AM for rehearsal, and sing the music you’ve learned in worship on the same day. We will have several pop-up choir events over the summer. An added benefit of the choir is that you get to learn the hymns for the day in advance of the service! Join the Pride Pop-Up Choir on June 28! Members of the LBGTQ+ community are especially invited, but we hope to see many allies, as well. Carol Wolvington will direct the group in singing “We Are a Rainbow” by David Kai. You can read David’s account of writing the song here: https://gatheringworship.ca/blogs/we-are-rainbow

Discussion: Tree Cover in BIPOC Communities
The historical practice of redlining, a racist policy which prevented people of color from purchasing homes in many neighborhoods all across the US, lives with us still in the form of inadequate tree cover still found in areas where BIPOC communities were allowed to live. We are preparing a session on this topic to be held on Sunday, May 31 after worship. In the meantime, you can read a related article from Sierra Club here: https://tinyurl.com/3xenwk63.
